Energy price rises renew interest in home cleaning tips!
We’ve seen a big spike in the last few weeks of people looking towards tips not only for cleaning but also for keeping household bills down.
One of the biggest costs for consumers is the now soaring cost of electric and gas. So with that in mind we’ve a few tips for running your washer and dryer as efficiently as possible this year;
1.A colder cycle is better
Washing at colder temperatures for less time is more energy efficient. Simple as that. If you don’t need hot temperatures, make do at 30!
2.)Wash large loads, but don't overpack
It's more efficient to do larger loads of laundry, just not so much it can’t wash effectively mind!
3.)Maintain your machines
Clean your machine every few months to keep it cleaning efficiently;2 cups of white vinegar in the draw, hot cycle, 1/2 cup of baking soda in to drum, hot cycle-done!
3.) Balls!- Well Dryer balls to be exact.
Wool or rubber dryer balls help separate your clothes and increase their exposure to airflow. Faster drying=less energy.
4.)Air dry on the line when possible-of course!
5.) If you’ve a day/night tariff run your machines late at night or early in the morning to save.
These changes alone may not make a huge difference to your pennies in the bank, but taken with other changes they may just help out!
